New Web site for Chamber of Commerce

The Detroit Lakes Regional Chamber of Commerce launches a new Web site.

On the main page, there are large photos that rotate to give visitors a better feel of what Detroit Lakes has to offer.

The navigation bar at the top has been streamlined for a cleaner look and efficiency in finding key topics.

In addition to pictures, there are videos that showcase Detroit Lakes. Videos are located at

Members can also upload their own videos. Chamber members without one can work with South Shore Productions to create a podcast linked to the new site.

Enhanced business listings are available for an additional fee. Those listings can include logos, photos and borders.

New to the Web site are a Meeting and Conference Guide with a page-flipping option.

Members with meeting facilities and banquet services, as well as members with associated services, are included as a benefit of their membership

Coming soon to the new Web site is a 2009 Visitor Guide.

The online guide will also feature the page-flipping option. Businesses that supported the guide with an ad will have a direct link from their ad in the guide to their Web site.

One of the pages with the highest number of views in recent months has been the coupon page. Visitors looking for a deal have a simple way to find one.

The Web site enhancement project was a partnership between the Detroit Lakes Tourism Bureau, Detroit Lakes Regional Chamber of Commerce and Explore Minnesota Tourism.

The Detroit Lakes Regional Chamber of Commerce is aware of a few bugs with the new Web site and is currently working with the Web site director to correct them.
