Brinkman elected to Aging Services Board

Christy Brinkman, Senior Administrative Leader of Essentia Health St. Mary's, has been elected to the Board of Directors of Aging Services of Minnesota. Brinkman will serve a one-year term as an at-large director. This is her first term on the Aging Services board.

"We are in unprecedented and pivotal times in health care," said Brinkman. "I look forward to serving in this role, working with Aging Services members and health care leaders across Minnesota."

Aging Services of Minnesota is Minnesota's largest association of aging services organizations.

Today its membership encompasses over 1,000 organizations. Aging Services members also employ over 50,000 caregivers throughout the state and serve more than 125,000 seniors each year in settings across the continuum, from their homes to housing communities, assisted living and care centers.

Aging Services members are diverse but share a common focus on person-directed living, missions of service to their communities and choice in older adult services.

As a member of the Board of Directors, Brinkman will play an important role in shaping the future of aging in Minnesota.

Committed to excellence and to innovation, Aging Services is a leader in pioneering new service delivery models and is nationally recognized for expertise on issues related to long term care, senior housing and supportive services.

Through effective grassroots advocacy, cutting edge information, education, and public information aimed at increased consumer awareness, Aging Services of Minnesota is dedicated to creating the future of aging services.

Brinkman has worked in health care and senior services for 15 years. She has a keen and well-balanced understanding of integrated health service delivery, particularly in Greater Minnesota.

In her current role, Brinkman serves as the Administrator of Essentia Health Oak Crossing, a 96-bed care center with a 23-bed transitional care unit, and she provides administrative oversight to a number of hospital and physician services across the Essentia Health St. Mary's campus.

Brinkman's past commitments to Aging Services of Minnesota include service on the Long-Term Care Culture Change Steering Committee, Quality in Action/Quality First Steering Committee and the Quality in Action Oversight Committee.
