Two of Holland Hospitality's properties were recognized with top brand awards at Best Western International's annual convention held recently in Las Vegas.

The Best Western Premier Lodge on Lake Detroit was recognized with the Champion Customer Care Award.

The Best Western Plus Superior Inn and Suites in Grand Marais was recognized with both the M.K. Guertin Award and the Champion Customer Care Award.

The awards were presented in front of more than 2,000 industry peers and were accepted by owners Chris Holland-Mehlhaff and Scott Mehlhaff.

"We are extremely proud of our management and team members for achieving these awards, said Chris Holland-Mehlhaff.

"They sincerely care and are dedicated to delivering superior customer care to each and every guest."

The prestigious M.K. Guertin Award is bestowed upon those member properties that have represented the vision of Best Western's founder and best demonstrated exceptional levels of service, quality, value and commitment to the brand.

The Customer Care Champion Award honors member properties that demonstrate and best exemplify exceptional levels of service and care. The hotels must also meet design standards and other membership requirements to qualify for each award.

Superior Inn & Suites was one of only 28 hotels out of more than 2,400 properties in the U.S. and Canada to receive both awards.

The Lodge on Lake Detroit was one of only 117 hotels out of more than 2,4000 properties in the U.S. and Canada to receive the Champion Customer Care designation this year.
