West Central Initiative ranked highly in state
The West Central Initiative is ranked eighth on the Minnesota Council on Foundations' newly released list of the state's top 25 community and public foundations for 2012.
The foundation is also ranked 41st on MCF's top 50 Minnesota grantmakers by assets. Last year WCI ranked tenth and 48th respectively.
The West Central Initiative is a regional community foundation serving the nine west central Minnesota counties of Becker, Clay, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse and Wilkin.
WCI invests resources in communities for regional success, using the tools of economic development and community development, and by promoting philanthropy.
"West Central Initiative works hard to provide resources to help create a better tomorrow for those living and working in west central Minnesota," said WCI President Nancy Straw.
"This ranking demonstrates the commitment of people throughout our area to a bright future."
The Minnesota Council on Foundations compiles Minnesota grantmaker rankings each year.
It ranks community and public foundations by grants and program-related investments paid in a given year.
