Spanky’s hires new general manager

Spanky’s Stone Hearth on Rose Lake has hired a new general manager.

Samantha Gronseth, who has worked at Spanky’s for about a year as a bartender, was promoted to general manager about a month ago.

Gronseth has an associate’s degree in photography, which she said has come in handy for photographing Spanky’s for advertising and promotional purposes. She has also worked in restaurants for about 10 years, serving, bartending and managing.

“We’re doing a lot of volunteering with the Vergas community,” she said of the Spanky’s crew. “We did Mardi Gras thing and Maple Syrup Festival, so we’re all trying to pitch in and help the community.”

“I also implemented a recycling program, just things to try and better the community and keep things local.”

Gronseth, who attended high school in Perham, has family in the area. She said her mom and brothers live on Star Lake, and her sister and her family live in Fargo.
