John Bridges Post 15, American Legion and its Auxiliary celebrated American Education Week with its 39th Annual Tea/Coffee Break on Wednesday, Nov. 19.

After a roll Call of schools and some words of appreciation to our educators by Thomas Frank, Alice Bellefeuille and Jennifer Bristlin were asked to share on what it means to be involved in the Jr. Auxiliary. They both spoke with passion about these youth and the things they have been doing.

Some of the things the Jr.s do is send cards, candy, penny prayer cards and pocket flags to troops, distribute pocket soldiers, they visit the nursing homes, and march in parades. It was noted that the American Legion Jr. Color Guard escorted the homecoming parade this fall -- a first time ever.

A special thanks went out to the teachers for educating our youth in proper etiquette that was displayed at the parade. Jr. Auxiliary youth were on hand to help clear tables and visit with educators.
