FCCLA competes in Region 6 STAR events

Fifty-four members of the Lake Park-Audubon FCCLA chapter competed at the Region 6 STAR Events competition in Wadena on Monday, Feb. 23.

Some of the STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) event topics included: Homeless Shelter Service Project, "Red Dress Campaign for Heart Disease," Chapter Showcase Display, Families Acting for Community and Traffic Safety, Date Rape, Life Event Planning, Extreme Body Art, Diabetes, Crisis Nursery Blankets + Bears, Senior Hearts, Cultural Diversity, Teen Coping Strategies, Career Preparation, Childhood Obesity, Adoption, Family Health, and Publicize and Promote.

All 54 members received State Advancing Medals, which qualifies them to attend the state convention in Bloomington on April 23-25.
