Library happenings

The Detroit Lakes library has several programs coming up for kids and adults alike.

Basic computer skills

Come in to Detroit Lakes Library on Tuesday, Jan. 12, from 10:30 a.m. to noon to get acquainted with a computer.

Topics covered in this class include turning on and shutting down the computer, desktop operations, basic computer terminology and basic mouse and keyboard operation. This class is perfect for beginners, because no computer experience is necessary.

Class size is limited, please call Detroit Lakes Library at 218-847-2168 to pre-register.

Wii Wednesdays

Elementary-aged students and teens are invited to Detroit Lakes Library to play Wii and hang out with friends every Wednesday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the library.

Book discussion

Detroit Lakes Library's book discussion group will meet Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 3 p.m. to discuss the book "That Old Cape Magic" by Richard Russo. Book discussion groups are a great way to get to know other people in the community, share ideas and learn from each other.

The February title for discussion will be "The Hot Flash Club" by Nancy Thayer.
