Wednesday, Oct. 3


• Cudamani: 3:30 p.m., Public Library, 1000 Washington Ave., Detroit Lakes. Members of the Cudamani performance group from Indonesia, who are visiting this week as part of the Arts Midwest World Fest Tour, will share some of their Balinese culture, costuming, dance and music at the Detroit Lakes Library. • Dulcimer jam, 6:30 p.m., in Lincoln Park Apartments, 207 Park St.


• Lake Country Scenic Byway Fall Color Tour: From Detroit Lakes to Park Rapids. Take a one day tour along the Byway to discover the wonders in our backyard and enjoy the fall colors. Space is limited; cost is $65 per person. Info: 218-847-9202.

• Cudamani: 7:30 p.m., Historic Holmes Theatre, 806 Summit Ave., Detroit Lakes. • Lund Lutheran Church, Richwood Road, hosts the Taste of Lund beginning at 9 a.m. Some of the Scandinavian delights include sandbakkels, Swedish almond cake, kransekake, lefse, crepes, potato candy and more. Tickets to sample are 2 for $1 or 12 for $5.

• The Harvest Hoopla is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Roosevelt Elementary School, DL. There will be games, prizes, raffle, food and fun. Everyone is welcome.

Sunday, Oct. 7


• The 17th annual Oktoberfest is from noon to 8 p.m. in the Frazee Event Center. Admission is $10 per person. Leon Olsen Band and Wee Willie will be playing music throughout the day, and German food and cash bar are available.

• The 12th annual North Country Trail Hike for Hope begins at 1 p.m. at the trailhead on Steamboat Forest Road north of Thorpe Tower. The trailhead is 1.2 miles east of Thorpe Township Hall in Hubbard Country. The township hall is located on HWY 91, which commences north of Nevis and Dorsett and runs to Hwy 200 east of Lake George. The 3.1-mile hike is to Forest Rd Spur 1.

Monday, Oct. 8


• Minnesota Author Lin Enger tells his own version of 'Hamlet' through his story of a young man trying to hold his family together in a world tipped suddenly upside down. He will be at the Cormorant LINK Site at 10:30 a.m. and the Detroit Lakes Library at 1:30 p.m.
