Lindsey Olson and Rilee Burnside went pink in an effort to raise awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society and the Susan G. Koman Foundation, as a part of their Family Career and Community Leaders of America Chapter Service Project.

The Lake Park-Audubon members co-sponsored two pink raffle baskets in cooperation with Mary Laney Hair Stylist, and collected over $200 in the hopes of finding a cure for breast cancer. The members will also sponsor a dress in pink day at the high school, make pink hair ribbons for the varsity volleyball team and decorate a Christmas tree at the Lake Park Parade of Trees Event honoring a family member of Rilee Burnside.

The team plans to tour a mammography clinic and interview radiologists about early breast cancer detection. As a part of their project, the students will be learning a lot about breast cancer and have plans to showcase their display at Parent-Teacher Conferences in February.
