United Way Community Celebration set

The United Way of Becker County will be hosting its ninth Community Celebration at the Detroit Lakes Pavilion, Thursday, Sept. 19, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

There will be live entertainment, free food, and various displays for you and your family to look at.

The celebration is a way to commemorate the United Way’s successes over the previous year and introduce the community to businesses they’ll be working with this year. Each business will have a booth and any information you may wish to know about their company including who they are, what they do, and what they are.

The booths will also have their own door prize that will be given away at the end of the night. This year the United Way is expecting to have 30 to 35 booths present.

This is a family event and children of all ages are more than welcome. There will multiple games to keep the kids entertained, including blow up games, piñatas, and much more.

There will also be free bike helmets given away to kids on a first come first serve basis. There will be about 80 helmets given away this year and there will also be two bikes (with helmets) given away at the end of the night.

This event is 100 percent free to the public, including the meal. Thanks to the many sponsors and volunteers that support the united way in all that they do.

The United Way puts this on so that individuals might spend time with their families all while enjoying a free meal and finding out what’s being offered in their very own community.
