Tamarac Fall Festival canceled

Due to the federal government shutdown, this Saturday's Fall Festival at Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge is canceled.

The quilt raffle will take place at the Tamarac Photo Contest Awards Ceremony at the Washington Square Mall in Detroit Lakes on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m.

Don Blanding, President of the Friends of Tamarac Board, expressed his regret for the cancellation, but said, “Tamarac volunteers have donated over 9,000 hours just this past year, and we look forward to the refuge reopening so we can continue to teach hundreds of students and help with Tamarac’s conservation projects.”
