Continental Divide Folk School classes announced in NYM

The Continental Divide Folk School, the teaching/learning arm of the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center, has announced its spring classes and schedule.

Classes include creating a mosaic sphere (using an old bowling ball), weaving, writing family stories, artisan bread baking, yoga, dance, and other classes.

A maple sugar camp will be held at the Bob and Ingrid Sonnenberg farm on the north side of New York Mills on Saturday and Sunday, March 23-24.  This course is for anyone interested in learning the traditional process of tapping maple trees and boiling the sap to make wonderful maple syrup.  The fee for this two-day class is $10 and students are admitted free of charge.

There are many other courses being offered this month as well. Information about the Folk School and the Cultural Center is available online at, or by calling 218-385-3339.

There are materials and tuition fees for most of the classes.

Classes are currently being offered at the Cultural Center building, located at 24 Main Ave. North in NY Mills, and on site at other nearby locations.  Take a class with your friends and family and enjoy time together being active and creative.
