2.9% pay hike for LP-A teachers
AUDUBON -- Teachers in Lake Park-Audubon will see a two-year pay increase of 2.9 percent under a contract ratified recently by the School Board and the teachers' union.
The school board and the Lake Park Audubon Education Association completed their negotiations earlier this month.
District costs for salary, salary benefits, and health insurance will increase by 1.88 percent for Year 1 and the Year 2 increase will be 2.01 percent. That works out to a two-year increase of 2.9 percent, under the formula used by the Minnesota School Boards Association.
Teachers will receive a salary increase of $883 for Year 1 and $947 for Year 2.
The Education Association accepted the agreement on Jan. 11, and the school board approved it on Jan. 14.
Other aspects of the contract include:
The School District will provide up to $4,296 in 2007-2008 and $4,648 in 2008-2009 toward single coverage.
Or up to $6,871 in 2007-2008 and $7,434 in 2008-2009 for family coverage for each teacher employed by the School District who is enrolled in the district's group health and hospitalization and dental insurance plans.
The district will provide up to $8,100 in 2007-2008 and $8,748 in 2008-2009 for married couples employed by the district as teachers.
