3 people injured in crash near Pelican Rapids, one seriously

PELICAN RAPIDS, Minn. – Three people were injured, one of them seriously, when the pickup they were riding in collided head on with an SUV on Highway 59 near Pelican Rapids Wednesday morning.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol:

A pickup driven by Kenneth R. Cosette, 59, of Pelican Rapids was northbound on Highway 59 when it lost control on icy snow and crossed into the southbound lane, striking an SUV head on.

A passenger in the pickup, Brenda M. Cossette, 59, Pelican Rapids, suffered serious injuries, according to the State Patrol.

Kenneth Cossette and the driver of the SUV, identified as Linda J. Mallow, 43, Pelican Rapids, suffered injuries that were not life threatening.

The incident happened about 11:37 a.m. on Highway 59 near Pelican Drive South.
