Three people were sent to a Fargo hospital with serious injuries after a two-vehicle, head-on collision Monday afternoon in Mahnomen County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2004 Ford Explorer driven by Dominic LaFriniere, 21, of Mahnomen, was traveling west on Highway 200 at milepost 59 just after 2:30 p.m. when the vehicle crossed the center line, lost its left rear tire and collided with a eastbound 2001 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Jesse Wadena, 24, of Naytahwaush, Minn.

Wadena and her passengers in the Pontiac, Tracy Wadena, 45, of Naytahwaush and a 2-year-old male child, were taken to Sanford Hospital in Fargo with serious injuries. LaFriniere and his 14-year-old passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the Patrol said.
