Over 50 4-H youth showed off their talents and their love for fun at the Becker County Share The Fun Program last week at the Holmes Theatre in Detroit Lakes.
A large variety of amazing talent was displayed by the youth, including several piano and vocal solos, a violin solo by Brady Larson of East Otter Tail County, an entertaining magic act by Alyssa Mitchell, Happy Hillside 4-H Club, a surprising Flash Mob dance act and more.
Special guest performances were provided by Annie Holzgrove, Junior Miss Becker County, and Elizabeth Anderson, Miss Becker County. The performances were viewed by a panel of three judges and a large audience of supportive parents and community residents.
Trophies were awarded to the top acts in each category. Winners included: Emily Freeh (Franklin), piano solo, "All Hail The Power of Jesus Name;" Maria Veit (Franklin), vocal solo, "Make You Feel My Love;" Marissa Thompson (Franklin), ballet dance; and the Cloverdale 4-H Club, large group skit, "Twas The Night Before the Fair."
The top acts have the opportunity to advance to the State Fair Competition this fall. Admittance to the show was a cash donation or canned goods, which will be given to the Becker County Food Pantry.
