43rd Annual Ironman Junior Classic

The 43rd annual Ironman Junior Classic got underway Thursday morning with the qualifying for the 13 - 18 year old Match Play Division. Nathaniel Kahlbaugh, from Mahnomen, shot a 2 over 29 to win medalist honors. The defending champion, Hunter Clark and the medalist went head to head in the second match of the day with Hunter Clark outlasting Nathaniel in the first playoff hole. Riley Peterson got his second match started with a Hole in One on the first hole, using an 8 iron on the 144 yard hole. He went on to win his match against Blake Kahlbaugh one up.

In the boys 10 - 12 year old division, the medalist honors went to Ben Unruh, from Detroit Lakes, shooting a 31. The boys 8 & 9 year old division has two sharing medalist honors. Gehrig Geiss from Bismark ND, and Scott Boehing from Fargo each shot a 36.

In the girls division, Shelby Busker shot a 43 to lead the field. Lily Burnside of Waubun is 5 back with a 48.

Friday will bring the Classic to a conclusion, followed by the Parent Child Scramble on Saturday.
