$67,000 raised at Zach Gabbard fundraiser
PERHAM, Minn. - Over 1,110 people attended a fundraising event for hospitalized Perham boys basketball player Zach Gabbard on Sunday at Mulligan's Pub.
WDAY-TV reported that $67,000 was raised for Gabbard in a little over five hours on Sunday.
Gabbard collapsed during a basketball game on Jan. 20 in Glyndon, Minn.
Following open-heart surgery, Gabbard has since been diagnosed with serious heart and brain complications, and is in critical condition at the University of Minnesota's cardio care specialized unit.
The fundraising event, attended by the Perham boys basketball team, featured a spaghetti dinner, silent auction and raffle.
