ABC's Extreme Makeover teaming up with Fargo company to build new home
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, the Emmy-award winning hit reality show on ABC Television, is coming to the Fargo-Moorhead area to surprise one deserving family with an extreme home makeover, according to a news release issued by Heritage Homes.
The firm is asking for community support in helping build a new house in one week. A community pep rally is planned for 6 p.m. Monday at the Bison Sports Arena in north Fargo. Doors open at 5 p.m. Information will be provided about how to volunteer, donate and be involved in the project.
According to the news release:
This will be the third extreme homebuilding experience for Heritage Homes. In 2006, Heritage Homes made the dreams come true for a Minot family. In 2007, Heritage Homes partnered with builders from around the country to help Hurricane Katrina victims in New Orleans.
"It was an honor to have been called by Extreme Makeover to participate in the show again," co-owners Daryl Braham and Tyrone Leslie in the news release. "We have embraced this opportunity whole-heartedly and have been outreaching to the Extreme organization to bring them to the Fargo-Moorhead area since 2007 and are beyond excited to finally have them here. Heritage Homes, along with our trade partners and thousands of other North Dakotans and Minnesotans will be able to help change the life of a very deserving family."
Heritage Homes is asking volunteers from the community to provide their time, support and resources to help the project. Interested individuals or companies can find more information on how to volunteer time and resources at www.extrememakeoverfm.com.
