Former Vergas resident Adele L. Schrupp, 86, of Frazee, died Friday, April 6, 2012 at the Frazee Care Center.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10 in St. John's Lutheran Church, Vergas, with Reverend Robert Hinckley officiating, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 9, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Vergas, continuing for one hour prior to Tuesday's services at the church.
Adele Luvern Schrupp was born to William and Lucille (Johnson) Butzke on August 3, 1925 in Corliss Township, near Perham. She graduated from Perham High School in 1942 and worked at a number of places in Dent following her graduation.
Adele was united in marriage to Milton Schrupp August 3, 1946, in Perham. They made their home in Vergas, where Adele worked at several places, including many years with the post office. She served as the Vergas postmaster, 1980-90. Milton died in 2002.
Adele was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Ladies Aide and taught Sunday School. She also enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren; was a member of the homemakers club and knitting club; and enjoyed dancing.
Survivors include two sons, Larry (Elaine) and Douglas, both of Vergas; two daughters, Susan Stone and Kristi (Ardell) DeBerg, both of Vergas; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Tamara Schrupp; a great grandson, Reed Bachmann; a brother, Willis Butzke; and a sister, Violette Philipanko.
