Adeline E. Miller, 86, of Detroit Lakes, died Friday, February 27, 2009 at Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes.
Adeline was born the daughter of Harold and Anna (Olson) Solberg on March 13, 1922, in Flom, Minnesota. She grew up on the family farm in Flom and graduated from Waubun High School in 1940. Adeline married Emmett Miller on Feb. 7, 1942. Shortly after their marriage, Emmett was drafted into the military, so Adeline lived with her family until his return in 1944. They resided in Detroit Lakes, where Adeline was a homemaker.
Adeline was a master at crossword puzzles. She enjoyed reading, planting flower gardens with her husband, Emmett and baking, especially her pumpkin pies.
Surviving Adeline are her husband of 67 years, Emmett Miller of Detroit lakes; three sons, Russell (Rita) Miller of Detroit Lakes, Roger (Cheryl) Miller of Shoreview, Minn., and Harlan Miller of Shoreline, Wash.; five grandchildren; two great grandsons; sister, Ramona Bettendorf of Moorhead; two nieces and one nephew.
Preceding Adeline in death were her parents and a brother, Robert Solberg.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, March 2 at Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes, with the Rev. Dan Babine officiating. There will be visitation for one hour prior to the service at the nursing home.
