Adeline "Addy" Seifert, 89, of Detroit Lakes, died on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes.
A mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, March 12 in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Detroit Lakes.
Visitation will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 11, with a 6:30 p.m. rosary followed by a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.
Addy was born to Louis and Rose (Lovin) Flicek on August 27, 1920 in Mahnomen. She attended and graduated from Mahnomen High School. She attended the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn., graduating with a degree in sociology. Following graduation, she taught at Holdingford High School in Holdingford, Minn.
On June 30, 1943, Addy was united in marriage to W.J. "Bill" Seifert, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Mahnomen. After raising a family in Fargo, Addy and Bill moved to Detroit Lakes to enjoy retirement in 1979.
Addy enjoyed a variety of activities inside and outside of the home. She lovingly worshiped her God and loved her family.
Those surviving Addy are her six children, Mary Jo of St. Louis, Mo., Kathy of Bloomington, Minn., Carol of Bend, Ore., Diane of Portland, Ore., Jane of Wheaton, Ill., and John of Detroit Lakes; one brother, Cyril Flicek of Mahnomen; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Preceding Addy in death were her husband and her parents.
