Aitkin man killed, two others injured in northwest Minnesota crash

HALLOCK, Minn. - An Aitkin, Minn., man was killed and two others injured in a head-on collision Sunday afternoon on an icy highway in Kittson County.

The Minnesota State Patrol identified the victim as Steven Wink, 54, a passenger in a vehicle driven by Benjamin Wink, 25, Warroad, Minn.

According to the patrol, the Wink vehicle was eastbound on Minnesota Highway 11 at 2:19 p.m. when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a westbound vehicle driven by Mark Engen, 59, Warroad. Road conditions were icy at the time, according to police.

Benjamin Wink and another passenger, Luke Wink, 23, Warroad, suffered serious injuries, the patrol said. A condition report was not available for Engen. No additional information on the injuries was immediately available.
