Alberta clipper pushing into region today
FARGO - North Dakota and northwestern and west-central Minnesota are expected to receive 1 to 2 inches of snow by tonight, with strong winds creating hazardous travel conditions in some areas as an Alberta clipper moves into the region, the National Weather Service said.
Winds will become northwest this evening, increasing to around 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph and reducing visibility to half a mile in blowing snow, especially in open country, the weather service said.
Stronger winds are expected west of the valley, including in the Jamestown area, with gusts up to 40 mph.
The weather service urged travelers to check for the latest weather and road conditions and carry a winter survival kit.
