Alice E. Heille, 72, of Detroit Lakes, died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.
Alice was born to Edward and Edna Jahnke Grindberg on October 2, 1937 in Frazee. The family moved to Mapleton, N.D., when Alice was a young girl. She grew up and attended school in Mapleton. On February 16, 1959 she was united in marriage to Clyde Heille in Fargo. They made their home in Mapleton and later moved to Fargo, where she worked at Elieses's Drapery Shop. In 1970, they moved to Detroit Lakes, where Alice owned and operated Alice's Draperies. Alice enjoyed gardening and motorcycle trips with her husband.
Surviving Alice are one son, Shane (Tamera) Heille of Detroit Lakes; two granddaughters, Ebony (Justin) Norberg of Columbia Falls, Mont., and Memory Heille of Minneapolis; four brothers, Ralph (Belva) Grindberg of Detroit Lakes, Arnold (Jane) Grindberg of Fargo, Conrad (Valira) Grindberg of Leonard, N.D., and Wayne (Patricia) Grindberg of Fargo; along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Alice in death were her parents; husband Clyde (1996); and one sister, Janice Grindberg.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 10 at West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday, June 11 at Zion Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes, with burial in Lake View Cemetery, rural Detroit Lakes.
