Alpha Theta awards scholarships
Alpha Theta, the Detroit Lakes area chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, recently awarded educational scholarships to Hawley High School graduates Meghan Kelly and Katelyn Gross.
Meghan, the daughter of Lance and Becky Kelly, plans to attend Concordia College in Moorhead in order to earn a degree in elementary education, with a minor in art. She also plans to write children’s book and “create art on both a personal and professional level.”
Katelyn, the daughter of Tony and Melody Gross, plans to attend the University of Minnesota-Morris, and earn a double major in social studies and French, with a minor in art. Her goal is to become a high school teacher as well as serve in the Peace Corps and “travel extensively.”
Alpha Delta Kappa is an international honorary organization for women educators, with chapters in 50 states as well as Puerto Rico, Australia, Canada, Jamaica and Mexico. The Alpha Theta chapter was established in 1968.
