Amelia Elizabeth Suvanto Maaninga, 94, of Menahga died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007 at Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga.

She was born June 1, 1913 to Gust and Elma (White) Arola at the family home in Becker County. She attended country school in Green Valley Township.

She married Arvid E. Suvanto Oct. 18, 1930 and they had 10 children. She was a homemaker. They lived in the Menahga area and work-ed on the farm.

She married Eino Maan-inga April 15, 1979 in Mena-hga. She held various jobs including at the Swift Tur-key Plant in Detroit Lakes for many years and the Ba-doura Nursery for 18 years. She also made Christmas wreaths in Park Rapids.

She is survived by four sons, Elmer (Maxine) of Lit-tle Falls, Alvin (Lila) of Menahga, Jerry of Queen Creek, AZ and Gene (Sherry) of Menahga; five daughters, Lillian Koskie of Menahga, Hazel (Richard) Schleicher of Park Rapids, Shirley Grangruth of Reno, NV, Doris (Joe) Brewer of Shakopee and Margaret (Roger) Grangruth of Mena-hga; brother, Walter (Sylvia); four sisters, Rosa Maninga, Hazel (Glenn) Camp, Theresa Lindula and Ellen (Ken) Johnson; 52 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, 28 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Arvid on May 4, 1971 and Eino Feb. 7, 1987; son, Don-ald; six sisters, Lillian, Esther, Effie, Elma, Aili and Julia; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral: 1 p.m. today (Saturday) at the Assembly of God Church in Menahga with Pastors Don Salo and Derek Fossey officiating. Special music will be pro-vided by her nephew and niece, Eugene and Joyce Singleton who will sing "Suppertime," "Where the Roses Never Fade" and "One Day at a Time." The congre-gational hymns will be "Amazing Grace" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus."

Active casketbearers: Her grandsons, Marlin Lynch, Darrell and Ivan Grangruth, Tony Parker, Duane Koskie and Shawn Mattila.

Honorary casketbearers: The rest of her grandchil-dren.

Interment: Green Valley Cemetery in Green Valley Township, Becker County.
