Arc Headwaters to host DL?self-advocacy days
Learn your rights, learn how to speak up for yourself, make some friends and have a lot of fun.
Arc Headwaters, a non-profit organization that provides information, support & advocacy for children & adults with disabilities & their families in Northwest Minnesota, is holding a self-advocacy conference at the Detroit Lakes Community and Cultural Center Aug. 25-26.
The conference is for people 16 years of age and older with a disability, their families and support people. The broad focus of the conference is promoting self-advocacy and developing self-advocacy skills.
Some workshops included in the two-day conference are: Disability & Human Rights, Assertiveness Training, Voting Your Values and more. The registration fee is $30.00 and includes all workshops, workshop materials and meals for both days, including a social event.
