Area 4-H club publishes cookbook: Here's a sample recipe
Waggin' Tails Canine 4-H Club announces the arrival of its new, one-of-a-kind cookbook, "Favorite Recipes - From our Paws to Yours."
Printed by Morris Press Cookbooks of Kearney, Neb., profits will benefit the purchase of dog show equipment.
Members of Waggin' Tails Canine 4-H Club, friends, and family have compiled their tastiest tried-and-true recipes into a single book that will be treasured for generations to come. This mouthwatering cookbook contains 348 recipes -- everything you need from appetizers to desserts. Each recipe includes the contributor's name, so it's easy to find the recipes of friends and loved ones.
Special features of the hardcover, 3 ring binder cookbook include recipes for dog treats, a cookbook stand and helpful cooking hints.

Gourmet dog biscuits (for your dog)
12 to 16 oz. raw liver
1½ lbs white flour
8 oz. Quaker Oats
3 bouillon cubes (meat or chicken flavored)
approx 1 cup of water
2 eggs, beaten
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 3 baking sheets.
Chop the liver finely, by hand or in food processor.
Mix flour and oats, crumble in the bouillon cubes
Add eggs and the chopped liver.
Add enough water to make a firm but slightly sticky dough.
Spread evenly on the sheets about ½-inch thick.
Dip a small dog-biscuit cutter in flour before cutting four each portion.
Remove uncut parts.
Spread out on another cookie sheet and repeat.
Bake 1 hour.
Store in an airtight container in refrigerator for 2 weeks.
