Arline C. Johnson, 91, Detroit Lakes, entered eternal life on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, in Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.
Arline C. Johnson was born Sept. 28, 1918, in Montevideo, Minn., to George and Myrtle (Hall) Daniels. She was raised and educated in Montevideo and is a 1937 graduate of Montevideo High School. Arline was united in marriage to Phillip Johnson on May 6, 1949, in Detroit Lakes. They lived in Owatonna, Minn., where she worked as a cook for the Owatonna Public Schools. They moved to Detroit Lakes in 1971 and later divorced. Arline worked for Blanding's Department Store and as a hostess for Perkins in Detroit Lakes.
She enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, ice skating, baking, dancing, music and WE Fest.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra (Robert) Jacoby, Blaine, Minn.; a son, Jeff Johnson, Detroit Lakes; five grandchildren, Felicia Johnson, Jamie Evans, Nick Jacoby, Kristin Jacoby and Tammy Johnson, and three great-grandchildren, Isiah, Jaiden and Raini.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at 2 p.m. in Emmanuel Nursing Home, with Chaplain Vicki Marthaler officiating.
Interment will be in Richwood Lutheran Cemetery, rural Detroit Lakes.
Friends may call Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. in the nursing home.
