Arrest warrant issued for sex offender who left Fargo halfway house
FARGO - Policy say an arrest warrant has been issued for a convicted sex offender who left a Fargo halfway house and didn't return or notify police of his new address.
Salbino Joseph Depina, 24, was living at Centre Inc., 123 15th St. N., when he left the halfway house on Jan. 3 and didn't return, according to a news release from Fargo Police Lt. Pat Claus. Depina didn't notify police of his intent to move, and he hasn't registered at a new address, the release stated.
Depina is wanted for failure to register, a Class C felony. He was assessed as a moderate-risk sex offender by the state and is currently under the supervision of the U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services Office.
Depina was convicted of corruption of minors on July 30, 2008, in Cass County District Court. His victims were acquaintances under the age of 15.
He is required to register as a sex offender until July 31, 2033.
Depina is described as 6 feet tall, 210 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.
Police are asking anyone with information about Depina's whereabouts to contact their local law enforcement agency.
