Artists sought for history fundraiser
The Becker County Historical Society and Museum is seeking artists to participate in their third annual “Keeping History Alive” fundraiser to be held March 21.
This event focuses on making the old new, using recycled or repurposed items to create new art or to use history as a point of inspiration for your work.
There are a select few objects available to use and these items can be viewed at the Becker County Museum, 714 Summit Avenue, Detroit Lakes, during regular business hours (Tuesday-Friday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.). Or you may use objects or ideas of your own.
Completed objects will be sold via live and silent auctions. If your item is chosen for live auction, you will receive 40 percent of the total sales prices. You will also receive two tickets to the event on March 21.
Silent auction items (donations) are also being sought. Silent auction artists will receive 30 percent of the total sales price and will be given one ticket to the event.
If you are interested, please contact Amy Degerstrom, executive director, as soon as possible.
