Arts council will award $157,000 in Legacy Fund grants; workshop set
The Lake Region Arts Council, based in Fergus Fall, will be awarding over $157,000 in Legacy Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund Grants in the next grant round.
There will be two free grant writing workshops offered on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at the LRAC offices, 133 S. Mill Street, Fergus Falls.
The workshop will focus on basic grant writing skills and feature an interactive online training for the Legacy Grant application.
The Grant Writing Workshop for organizations will be from 3 to 5 p.m. A second Grant Writing Workshop for individuals will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m.
Registration is required and is available at the LRAC website, LRAC4.org, www.lrac4.org/services/workshops.asp.
Over $110,000 will be awarded to organizations in the LRAC Spring Legacy Grant Round.
Eligible organizations must be located in the LRAC nine county region; Becker, Clay, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse, and Wilkin counties.
The following types of organizations may apply for funding to provide arts programming in their communities:
- non profit arts organizations,
- non profit organizations such as heritage groups, civic clubs, and youth organizations,
- educational institutions including k-12 schools, community ed departments, colleges, and universities,
- public entities including towns, cities, counties, park districts, and recreation departments, and libraries and museums.
Over $47,000 will be awarded to individuals in the LRAC Spring Legacy Grant Round. All individuals living in the LRAC nine county region are eligible.
Open to all disciplines from dance to music, visual arts to film, mixed media to performance; the primary focus is the expansion of arts opportunities in the LRAC region.
