Arvid Anderson, 80, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Hawley Senior Living in Hawley.
Arvid was born to Conrad and Alice Anderson on December 27, 1932, and attended school in Hawley. His military service in the U.S. Army included spending time in Korea. Arvid then returned to Hawley and married Adeline Spillum on April 6, 1957. Together they raised four children.
Arvid worked as a cement mason for T.F. Powers in Fargo for 25 years, and retired in 1995.
Surviving Arvid are his wife, Adeline; daughters, Debra (Arne) Mickelberg of Audubon and Rachel (Mark) Coppin of Jamestown, N.D.; sons, Mark (Jayne Howell) Anderson of Badger, Minn., and Noel (Tonya) Anderson of Hawley; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and niece, Linda Larson of Rothsay.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Conrad and Alice; sister, Irene (Ernie) Larson; baby boy, Arvid Bruce Anderson; and granddaughter, Nicole Coppin.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 in Hawley Lutheran Church, Hawley, with interment in the Hawley Cemetery.
