Arvid E. Rosing, 82, of Audubon, died Friday, October 1, 2010 at St. Mary's Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday), with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at David Donehower Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes. It will continue one hour prior to services on Thursday.
Funeral services for Arvid are set for 2 p.m. Thursday, October 7, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, rural Audubon.
Arvid was born to Emil and Emma (Moe) Rosing of rural Barnesville, Minn., on June 18, 1928. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Arvid was united in marriage to Delores "Dode" Erickson of Lake Park on November 28, 1947. In 1950 they moved to a dairy farm in rural Audubon, where they raised five children. Arvid retired from farming in 1983.
Throughout his life, Arvid enjoyed old-time music, gardening, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He was an active member of the Odd Fellows Club, D.A.V. Post 31, American Legion Post 339 in Audubon and St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
Arvid will be remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Delores, his five children, Dave (Paulette) Rosing of Audubon, Dixie (Larry) Buschette of Elverta, Calif., Bruce (Darla) Rosing of Soldotna, Alaska, LaVaun (Shawn) Lealos of Audubon and Karla (Paul) Hogenson of Audubon. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; and one sister, Norma Roberti of Sacramento, Calif., along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one son, Dennis.
