ATV crash sends three to hospital
Three people were injured in an ATV-van collision early Friday morning in the Ponsford area.
The most seriously injured was Kayla Norcross, 23, of Detroit Lakes, who was hospitalized in stable condition Friday at St. Mary's Innovis Health Center.
Richard Basswood, 23, of Ponsford and Dennis Norcross, 21, of Ponsford were transported by ambulance to St. Mary's, where they were treated and released.
The three appear to have been riding on the 2000 Polaris 500 ATV, which had been stolen earlier, according to a news release from the Becker County Sheriff's Department
The van left the scene and authorities are looking for the driver. There is no description of the van or driver at this time. If you have information, call the sheriff's department at 847-2661.
"We anticipate charges, pending the results of alcohol testing and the conclusion of the investigation involving the stolen ATV," Sheriff Tim Gordon said in the news release.
The accident was reported at 5:53 a.m. on the 28000 block of 490th Avenue.
