Auditions are set for BSU music scholarships
The Bemidji State University Department of Music will hold auditions for entrance into the program and for scholarships Saturday, March 1, 2014, in the Thompson Recital Hall of the university’s Bangsberg Fine Arts Complex.
The auditions are open to instrumentalists and vocalists who are interested in either entering or transfering to Bemidji State in the fall of 2014.
Auditions are also open to those who wish to participate in music activities, but who are not pursuing a music degree.
Music scholarships available at Bemidji State include full-tuition scholarships for Minnesota residents, housing scholarships, a number of endowed scholarships and numerous cash awards.
Students unable to be present at the auditions in March may schedule an audition at another time.
Students interested in full- or partial-tuition scholarships must audition in person, but recorded auditions are accepted for all other scholarships and awards.
Scholarship recipients perform at a special concert on campus each fall. This year, more than 45 students participated in the scholarship recognition performance, held Sept. 19.
Bemidji State’s Department of Music has a long and distinguished reputation for musical performance and academic training.
