Audubon woman injured in Highway 59 crash

An Audubon resident suffered minor injuries and an Ogema man apparently escaped injury in a head-on collision Tuesday afternoon on Highway 59 south of Westbury.

Megan J. Ekeren, 18, of Audubon was southbound on Highway 59 in a 1999 Honda Accord when she lost control of the car on the icy, slushy highway and struck an oncoming vehicle in the northbound lane.

She suffered minor injuries, according to the State Patrol.

The oncoming vehicle was a 1998 Chevy Tahoe driven by Gary L. Donner, 54, of Ogema. He suffered no apparent injuries, according to the State Patrol.

The crash was reported at 3:42 p.m. on icy blacktop. The Becker County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.

Westbury is located between Detroit Lakes and Callaway.
