Award-winning children's book available

"Someone Walks By, The Wonders of Winter Wildlife" has recently collected its third award by winning the bronze award for non-fiction picture books at the Moonbeam Children's Book Awards in Charleston, W.Va.

Published in October of 2008, School Library Journal says it's "exquisite cut-paper illustrations complement her hushed poetic language."

Polly Carlson-Voiles, a former Minneapolis teacher, wrote and illustrated the book, which was release in hard cover and soft cover versions by Raven Productions, Inc.

"Someone Walks By" was the winner for children's literature in the Northeastern Minnesota Book Awards, and the silver honors winner of the Midwest Independent Publisher's Award for non-fiction picture books.

By following mystery footprints through a variety of winter landscapes, young readers discover the many animals surviving and thriving in the frozen winter woods. The author conveys a wealth of information about adaptation.
