Bail set at $250,000 for alleged car thief, bank robber
Bail has been set at $250,000 for a man who was arrested in Detroit Lakes after allegedly robbing a credit union in Fargo and stealing a car.
Denver Lee Tergerson, 24, of 1717 40th St. S., Fargo has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony theft of a motor vehicle, valued over $2,500.
He also faces bank robbery charges in Fargo.
According to court records: He was arrested in Detroit Lakes after Becker County law enforcement was informed that he was a suspect in an armed robbery and was heading east in a stolen grey Chevy Cavalier. He was believed armed and possibly suicidal.
He was arrested without resistance in the Detroit Lakes Wal-Mart parking lot. He had $2,970 in cash on him. The car had been stolen from a Wal-Mart in Fargo.
He appeared Dec. 19 before District Judge Peter Irvine, who set $250,000 cash bail or bond. His next appearance is Dec. 29.
