Bail set at $50,000 on DWI, domestic assault charges
Robert Lane Jackson, 33, of 36096 Lynx Lane, White Earth has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony first-degree DWI - test refusal, felony fifth-degree assault, felony domestic assault and gross misdemeanor driving after his license was canceled.
On Oct. 7 officers were dispatched to a residence on Masten Drive, White Earth, on a report of an assault. Jackson had allegedly struck his girlfriend in the face, slapped, pushed her, and threw a full can of beer in her face, according to court records. He had allegedly been drinking at the time.
Jackson and the woman share a daughter together, and the woman told the girl to run prior to the assault. She and a cousin ran to a neighbor's house.
A deputy pulled over the four-door Mazda Jackson was driving within a half hour of the incident, and he refused to submit to alcohol testing, saying he had not been drinking. He threw a cigarette at the officer before being handcuffed and arrested.
On Oct. 8, District Judge Joe Evans issued an order of detention. The next day District Judge Lisa Borgen set bail at $50,000. His next court appearance is Oct. 27.
