Barbara A. Holmer, 60, of Frazee, died Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the Frazee Care Center in Frazee, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Barbara Ann Holmer was born to Elmer and Ada (Sedberg) Holmer on January 8, 1948 in Detroit Lakes. She was raised in Frazee, confirmed in Ponsford, and graduated from Frazee High School in 1965. Barbara ran her own cleaning business and worked as a bartender at the Frazee Municipal Liquor Store. She lived in Frazee all her life.
Barbara was a member of Heart O'Lakes VFW Post 7702. She was an avid pool player. She loved her cat, Smokey, and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Surviving Barbara are her brother "Butch" (Gladys) Holmer of Frazee; sister-in-law Bonnie Holmer of Frazee; many nieces and nephews; and her cat, Smokey.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Elmer and Ada Holmer; and brothers, Walter and Jack.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12 at the Furey Funeral Home in Frazee, with a 4 p.m. prayer service, and continuing for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee, with the Rev. William Aufdenkamp officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee. Arrangements are being provided by the Furey Funeral Home in Frazee.
