Battle Lake to host art celebration
Battle Lake is celebrating their new streetscape and community-created art on June 7, and everyone is welcome to help them celebrate.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Main Street West at the Lakes Area Community Center, but there will be other activities held throughout the day.
Some of the various activities include food demos at the farmers market, turtle races, Prairie Fire performance of “Cinderella,” sidewalk chalk activity, mosaic riddle game, the story of the Mosaic Project and more.
The highlight of the day will be 20 mosaic panels created as a community and artistic bicycle racks created by a local metal artist Paul Boyum. A $10,000 Legacy grant to the City of Battle Lake from Lake Region Arts Council made the mosaic and bike racks possible.
