Rebecca Rene was born to Edward and Irene (Sorensen) Ziemer on March 11, 1948 at the Fairmont Community Hospital. The first of four children, Becky was born on her mother's birthday, in 30 degree below zero weather.

Becky grew up and attended school in Fairmont, Minn. She was active in the Fairmont High School marching band, where she enjoyed playing the clarinet. She graduated from Fairmont High School with the class of 1966.

Following her graduation, Becky went on to attend Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. She later attended the Detroit Lakes Vocational School, where she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) degree.

Becky was united in marriage to Kenneth Rosburg at Fairmont, in April of 1971. This union was blessed with two daughters: Holly and Heidi.

In 1976, the young family moved to Birchmere Resort on Little Toad Lake, near Frazee, which they operated for a number of years. The family remained in the Frazee area, where Becky fulfilled her calling as a lay midwife, which she continued to do until the time of her passing. She was blessed to have "caught" 555 babies during this time, all of which were home deliveries in the tri-state area.

Becky was instrumental in starting the Agape Pregnancy Crisis Center in Detroit Lakes, where they had their office in the local hospital. She was also a pioneer in the home-schooling movement in Minnesota.

Becky was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Frazee. Many people found Becky to be a great wealth of support, information and comfort, and often called on her during their times need. She will be dearly missed.

Becky's grandchildren were the joy of her life. When she was not spending time with them, she was often scrapbooking pictures of them. She was an avid quilter and her siblings were blessed to receive heritage quilts from her. Becky was also an active gardener and planted vegetable, flower and herb gardens.

She used her homegrown vegetables to create delicious homemade foods that were often enjoyed by her family. She will especially be remembered for her Minnesota wild rice soup and homemade breads.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Irene Ziemer of Fairmont; two daughters and grandchildren: Holly (Tim) Drewes of Frazee and their children, Toby, Rory, Gabe, Ella, Anna, Greta and Josiah; and Heidi (Troy) Houger of Colorado Springs, Colo., and their children, Levi, Abbi and Maci; Kylene Miosek, whom Becky considered another daughter; three siblings, JoAnne (Mike) McNabb of Tampa, Fla., Jeff Ziemer of Fairmont and Alan Ziemer of Tacoma, Wash.; 12 nieces and nephews; 25 great nieces and great nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Her father, Edward, preceded her in death, in 1988.
