Bellefeuille defeats Bristlin
Becker County Commissioner Bob Bristlin was defeated by challenger John Bellefeuille in the general election Tuesday, 1,412 votes to 868, or 62 percent to 38 percent.
Bellefeuille is a former Detroit Lakes police officer and current Detroit Township supervisor who lives on Long Lake.
Bristlin, a construction contractor, has been on the board since 2002.
In the city of Audubon, the vote was 104 for Bellefeuille and 63 for Bristlin.
In Audubon Township, the vote was 159 for Bellefeuille and 108 for Bristlin.
In Detroit Township, the vote was 635 for Bellefeuille and 404 for Bristlin.
In the city of Detroit Lakes, Ward 1, Precinct 1, the vote was 514 for Bellefeuille and 293 for Bristlin.
Neither candidate was immediately available for comment late Tuesday night.
