Bemidji Pioneer newspaper building damaged by bullets
Three employees were working inside the Bemidji Pioneer building when it was struck by bullets early Saturday morning.
No one was injured.
Pioneer employees said the shooting was discovered around 12:45 a.m. after hearing one bullet break through a window in the northwest portion of the building.
The bullet went through the window and into a wall.
That damage was immediately reported to police.
It then was discovered that another bullet went through a window in the main entryway of the Pioneer, but did not break through the doorway.
A responding police officer suspected the business was shot at by someone in a vehicle along state Highway 197/Washington Avenue South.
It was not immediately known whether the Pioneer was targeted or if it was a random shooting.
