Blanche A. Englund, 90, of Detroit Lakes, died Friday, August 8, 2014 at Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.
Blanche Arlene Englund was born to Knute and Esther Leegard Solum on May 5, 1924 near Richwood. She grew up and attended country school near Richwood.
On November 14, 1942 she was united in marriage to Roy Englund in Detroit Lakes. They made their home and raised their family in Detroit Lakes.
Blanche had been a resident at Emmanuel Nursing Home since 2007.
She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, and time spent with her grandchildren.
Surviving Blanche are her son, Richard (Marilyn) Englund of Detroit Lakes; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband Roy (1981); one son, Ronald Englund; three sisters, LaVern Solum, Alvina Lemon and Alette Arneson; three brothers, Clifford, Lawrence, and Arnold Solum; and her parents.
Funeral services took place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12 in West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes, with visitation for one hour prior to services.
Interment was in Richwood Lutheran Cemetery, rural Detroit Lakes.
