His presentation is accompanied by the patriotic music that has stirred hearts through the course of America's 200-year history, including music for the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force, mothers and the girls left behind.

Blanshan describes himself as a 'slightly aging gentleman with a guitar and a penchant for stories and music from days gone by.'

For the past several years, he's been having a 'rollicking good time' taking his stories around southern Minnesota, northern Iowa and eastern Wisconsin.

Now that we've convinced him to include western Minnesota on his travels, don't be surprised to see his name crop up again a little later in the season.

This program by Dale Blanshan is one of a series of public programs scheduled this fall during the display at ITOW of the traveling exhibit, "Our Lives, Our Stories:  America's Greatest Generation."

The National Endowment for the Humanities who funded this exhibit encouraged each host site to add programming to add new dimensions to the exhibit.

Our next production is a one-woman drama by Pippa White called "Voices from the Resistance" which will be performed on Oct. 12 and Oct. 13.

"Norman Rockwell and Patriotism" is free and open to the public.

The ITOW Veterans Museum is located at 805 West Main, Perham.
