'Bone Builders' begins in Lake Park
Bone Builders is an osteo-exercise program designed for seniors to strengthen lower body, increase flexibility, and improve balance with the goal being to prevent falls.
Falls are the third leading cause of death among seniors in Minnesota.
Mahube Community Council is the host site in Becker County for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). After receiving a grant to purchase the weights, attend leader training and train volunteer leaders Bette Haring and Jeannette Jutz in Lake Park, the program is off and running.
The group meets every Tuesday and Friday at the Lake Park City Center from 11 a.m. to noon. There is room for a few more participants. Contact Karen Lenius, Mahube Senior Programs director, at 218-847-1385 or email@example.com for more information.
